ARCSTONE: Lunar Calibration Instrument
A team of us at Resonon have partnered with NASA to design, build, and test ARCSTONE, an instrument which will calibrate the reflectance of the moon. We are currently preparing for a ground test, and hope to begin building a launch version in 2021. Eventually, ARCSTONE will enable the Moon to be used as an accurate calibration source for earth-viewing satellite instruments.
To learn more about the project (and to see an amazing video about moon phases, libration, and position angle), see here.
